In terms of a history of Silicon Valley, Fire in the Valley is the book to start with according to Tom. Heron is bored with nationalism and his parents. Heron starts by talking about his lazy experiences of Vietnam and compares family experiences with Tom. They both explore the idea of high school defining the antithesis of reality. Tom then moves the discussion onto Google blocking sites (including his own) and the neutering of the discourse on net neutrality. Heron starts the main topic for the discussion on survival.
