It was a lot of fun there and we spent over 8 hours live-blogging, taking pictures, hanging out, eating at Piezoni’s (you totally have to try them) and playing War at Sea where an amazing six year old beat me in a 100pt match. Please enjoy the pictures, they (for some unknown and odd reason) are displayed in reverse order.
Battleground Games Plainville Opening Day Pictures
Battleground Games & Hobbies Plainville is OPEN
We’re here at 25 Taunton Street in Plainville for the opening of Battleground Games & Hobbies Plainville. We will be live-blogging on the iPad this event for most of the day.
Since we’re live-blogging this we don’t have the usual full functionality that we normally do. We have pictures of this on our Facebook page. Be sure to check there and pictures will be showing here on the blog soon.
We got here early to find Chase Laquidara, store manager, cleaning the exterior windows. He let us in to find the finished interior. It is breathtaking. As of 10:10 a small crowd of people have shown up. A couple 40k gamers are setting up for a game while half a dozen Magic: The Gathering card players have ensconced themselves near the HD TVs, which are broadcasting NFL news.

Battleground Games Plainville Nears Soft Opening
Despite the threat of Hurricane Earl both Derek Lloyd, owner, and Chase Laquidara, Plainville Manager, are moving ahead for Saturday’s soft opening. A crowd of both existing customers from BG Abington and Plainville locals is expected. The CWF Game Cast will be at the opening, hopefully from the start at 10am, live blogging the event and sharing pictures online. To whet your appetite we have what may be the final pre-event pictures of the Plainville store. We hope you enjoy them as you gear up to go to 25 Taunton Street in Plainville (click for map of location courtesy of Mapquest) this Saturday.
