War at Sea: Flank Speed Stat Card Gallery

This is the complete Task Force Picture Gallery. It shows all cards personally scanned in by me at 600dpi per card. Please note all our stat card scans (including these) are released under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share alike 3.0 Unported license (as is everything on this blog). You must adhere to that license in order to use the scans.

I hope you enjoy the card gallery.  Don’t forget to use the 2010 Starter Stat Cards, Flank Speed Stat Cards, Task Force Stat Cards, and Base Set Stat Cards.

You can enlarge any of the pictures simply by clicking on them. This will take you to a larger version where you can see all the text on the Special Abilities.

Before you click READ MORE please note that the gallery has 60 high resolution pictures. That will be resource heavy and if you use dial-up it will take a very long time to load. Dial-up users are better off going to Flank Speed Gallery Folders and peruse the folders by nation.

If you wish to download the complete gallery you can find the 6.7mb zipped file at Flank Speed Stat Card Gallery Zip (right click, save target as).

Miniature Market Review Prompts Company Reply

The owner of Miniature Market is a nice man named Steve who sponsors the Axis & Allies FORUMINI.  He sent me a private message (PM) on that forum letting me know he read my review and he also took the time to reply to the review.

I try my best to provide accurate information and a complete picture.  I don’t always succeed but I keep trying to do better.  I’ve always tried to share information from companies, publishers, authors, etc when they make it available to me.  If I’m in the wrong I admit it.

To provide a more complete picture I am sharing Steve’s remarks unedited (I’d never edit them) and in their entirety.  I feel it is important for companies to have the option and capability to respond to reviews of their products and services.  I encourage all companies, whether they’ve been reviewed or not, to create a FREE account on this blog and use this to discuss their products.  I made this offer to Steve and it is my hope that he will take me up on it.  Until then I am taking the opportunity to share his remarks on his behalf.  Before we get to that I need to say that Miniature Market is a great company to order from and I am proud to recommend them to my friends and fellow gamers.

Miniature Market Review 82%

Miniature Market is an online retailer selling a variety of games and gaming supplies.  A lot of the Axis & Allies ForuMINI members are huge fans and as a result of the increased business Miniature Market has graced forum members with exclusive coupons.

One such coupon took $5 off when ordering the new War at Sea: Flank Speed set.  Normally I purchase all of my War at Sea cases from my friendly local game store, Battleground Games, and for Flank Speed I have purchased two cases.  But, I thought with the good price point I’d get a third and order it from Miniature Market.

This review details my experience providing reflections based on my experience.  I would be remiss if I do not clearly state that I received a $5 gift certificate to Miniature Market because I am an Axis & Allies ForuMINI member.  I was not compensated for this review.  In fact, I’m never compensated for my reviews and if the day ever comes that I am or am given special review only product I will gladly say so at the start of the review.

Preparation

A lot of discussion existed on the forum about Miniature Market.  Most of it was amazing and all of it was good.  Almost, I thought, too good (it wasn’t too good to be true) to be true so I contacted the company with questions.  In particular I asked questions relating to the special discount, to shipping (when would the case arrive), and how to order.  The sales rep replied first thing next morning (I sent the e-mail after business hours) answering all my questions.

He explained how shipping works, that the coupon code gave $5 off when purchasing at least 1 case of Flank Speed, and answered all my questions.  The customer service was excellent!  Unfortunately, it turned out that a portion of his information was incorrect.

War at Sea: Flank Speed 200pt Multiplayer

On Wednesday September 3rd four of us gathered at Battleground Games in Abington to play a massive 200pt multiplayer game of War at Sea.  We wanted to focus on the units released in Flank Speed.

Admirals Adrian and Cary brought a coordinated Axis fleet from the mighty Third Reich and Italian Empire.  They faced the combined might of the joint United Kingdom and United States task force led by Admirals John and Jonathan (your’s truly).

To document this event I used my digital camera and then through the magic of Apple turned those digital photos into a digital slide show.  You can see it below.  I hope you enjoy.
