Halo Clix Another POV

Griffon Games offers another point of view on Halo Clix to consider. Basically, they like it for 2 reasons (aside of liking Halo):

1. It’s fast. A game only takes about half an hour if you play with 400 points per side.
2. Your entire collection is your reserve. In any given game any miniature that you own has the potential to hit the tabletop with the weapon-swapping, respawning and upgrading rules.

Battleground Weird War II – Wargaming in a World Gone Mad

The world as we knew it ended at midnight on January 1, 1945…

Winner

Battleground Weird War II is a series of modified rules that are compatible with Easy Eight Enterprises’ Battleground WWII System. The scale is in 25mm-28mm or 1/48-1/50.

In this game, you will battle for survival in an alternative 1945 world. The Earth has been involved in a global war for the last several years and now it seems that mankind’s cruelty, savagery and suffering has triggered an event of biblical proportions in which creatures from all of Earth’s religions, myths and folklore now inhabit the world.

Sea monsters attack and devour ships, winged monstrosities roam the skies, the dead return to torment and feast on the living and the hosts of both Heaven and Hell wage open warfare in plain view of a horrified humanity.

Science and technology advance at a furious rate and unnatural alliances are struck in attempts to stem the tide against humanity’s supernatural foes. These are the end times and humanity is struggling to survive in a world that has truly gone mad.

Halo Clix

Just the other day a new game entered the Clix realm…Halo Clix. Or as they’re officially known…Halo Action Clix.

Before I get into a diatribe on Halo Clix I’m going to bring all of you. Yes, I’m bribing you with the below comic from Penny Arcade (all rights reserved and owned by them to the comic). Click the comic for a closer look.

I’ve yet to play the game but it seems simple enough. The sculpts look really nice and it isn’t expensive at $10 for a blister of 10 guys, with a map, and the rules. I’m most excited for the game to use the clix as stand ins for playing Frag.

I’m sure there’ll be appeal for Halo players, no I’ve never played Halo, but I don’t expect the game to make a big splash. I buy a lot of clix stuff and have a hard time seeing non-Halo fans buying into the game.
