The Flames Of War and Battlefront Miniatures website. New to Flames Of War? This week we spotlight next week’s releases. It’s a bumper crop of models, three for the Soviets and two for the Germans. The Soviets get the IS-2 obr 1943 individual blister to flesh out their units, the T-34/85 obr 1943 box with five different stowage hull variants and the long awaited Sapper Company. The Germans get the PaK40 auf RSO tank-hunter boxed platoon and the late war Grenadier Mortar Platoon.
Mike has created an excellent Intelligence Briefing covering the Soviet Guards Heavy Tank Regiments still fielding older models of heavy tanks in 1944. We also start another series of the Road to the GT following the progress and creation of several different army of the Battlefront staff as they prepare for the New Zealand Mid War Grand Tournament. Finally the guys from GAJO Games in the US have sent us a report from their Stalingrad Mega Game held as part of Battlefront USA’s St. Valentine’s Day Massacre event. We’ve also updated the US Nationals Qualifying Events with some more qualifiers in April, May and June. The Qualified Player list has also been updated.

Soviet Guards Heavy Tank Regiments Not all Soviet Guards Heavy Tank Regiments were equipped with the IS-2 heavy tank during 1944. Many regiments were still armed with KV-1e, KV-1s, KV-85 and Churchill heavy tanks. |
