No Wargaming Recon This Week

We’re very sorry but there is no new episode of Wargaming Recon for the week of January 6, 2013. This is a crappy way to start the new year but it is for a very good reason.

On December 28th my wife and I closed on our first house. We got the keys that day and have been spending every spare moment painting the inside. We move near the end of January.

Besides being exciting for both of us as our first house it is exciting for a few other reasons. Half of the basement is finished and will become my personal gaming batcave. There is enough room for me to put a 4×6 table to game on, space for a TV, to hang out and more. The unfinished half has a great workshop where I can continue my wet on wet (Bob Ross style) oil painting. Plus, there’s a gigantic antique workbench where I can assemble and paint miniatures.

The other reason that the house is exciting holds allure for my podcasts. The house has three bedrooms. The smallest is becoming my office and podcast studio. No longer will I have to reschedule recordings for when our bunnies are quiet or to avoid the noise of my wife’s delicious baking. I will now be able to record in a setting with better acoustics where I can close the door to drown exterior noise.

If you are seeking a podcast fix this week, don’t worry. I’m not leaving you high and dry.

First, have you caught up with the previous Wargaming Recon episodes? You may want to listen to Episode 84: Wargaming on the Cheap. There’s a ton of great tips in that episode that will save you money.

The other possibility is to listen to the other shows on the Troll in the Corner Podcast Network. My show Geeks Explicitly might be of interest. Or, you could listen to either Indie Talks by Ben Gerber or Monsters of the Shattered World by Brent Newhall.
