The Battle for the Bahamas is a scenario played at Battleground Games in Abington a few weeks ago by the regular War at Sea players. One of our regulars, John the Industrious, crafted 3D airfields, with rules, to place on islands. In addition he included rules, courtesy of WoTC, for shore batteries, which are supposed to appear in the next set if “confirmed internal rumors” are believable. They usually are.
The game pitted an Allied force defending the Bahamas against an invading Axis force. This 2 on 2 game arrayed John and Rick as the United States, fielding a 200 point joint carrier fleet, hoping to stop Cary and I as a German and Italian coalition fleet. As the attackers we had to escort transports to the main island. The transports had to unload their reinforcements, bolstering our small landing party, and in turn giving us objective points. The Allies had to do the same thereby repelling the invaders and, at the same time, destroy our transports.
Below you can see the progression of the game in pictures. The game ended with the Axis losing due to failure to protect the transports and also from superior Allied air power. Half a dozen carriers tends to do that, though, so no surprise there. Much appreciation goes to Ben for taking pictures of the game. Thank you kindly good sir.

This is the complete War at Sea Picture Gallery. It shows all cards personally scanned in by me at 600dpi per card. Head over to the War at Sea Task Force Picture Gallery for all the cards from set 2.
We will be adding to this over time and hope to have it completed shortly.
I hope you enjoy the card gallery. It will be supplemented with a picture gallery of all the models as soon as possible.
We will soon have scans of the cards’ backs and make them available to everyone. You can enlarge any of the pictures simply by clicking on them. This will take you to a larger version where you can see all the text on the Special Abilities.
Before you click READ MORE please note that the gallery has 64 high resolution pictures. That will be resource heavy and if you use dial-up it will take a very long time to load. Dial-up users are better off going to Baset Set Gallery Folders and peruse the folders by nation.
If you wish to download the complete gallery you can find the 18mb zipped file at Base Set Stat Card Gallery Zip (right click, save target as).

Monsterpocalypse was a big hit at GenCon Indy 2008 and rightly so. Great looking models, solid rules, and great support from a classy gaming company. The game doesn’t officially release until later this year but who can wait until the Autumn? Not I and to that end I now have real, live (well not alive), models and stuff for the game.
The products arrived yesterday and I documented the unveiling with many flashes of digital camera. More are en route including the limited edition GenCon Indy 2008 only sculpts of two monsters plus more units and even more monsters. For now, I have a solid base with 1 starter, 1 unit booster, and half a dozen monster boosters.
Enjoy the pictures below. Remember to click them for a larger pic.

Wednesday evenings are War at Sea night at Battleground Games in Abington. Tonight I thought it’d be fun to record my game and write it up as a battle report. I brought my digital camera with the hopes of taking pictures. For some reason it wouldn’t work at the store. Either the battery died or squigs were playing a game of Blood Bowl with its innards.
Thankfully I took some pictures of my fleet before I left my house and I have peppered those throughout the battle report. I played a 200pt game against my gaming buddy Rick. Below is the breakdown of our two fleets. Mine is accurate and his is as best I can remember.
